Deanna Clayton:
Through her language of color and texture Deanna Clayton
creates an art form that undoes ones expectations of the material.
Deanna Clayton is one of the most refreshing and exciting
young artists on the contemporary glass scene. Utilizing the
ancient method of casting glass in "Pate de Verre",
Deanna Clayton has captured translucent light and color in
uniquely tactile glass vessels. A lace-like band of electroplated
copper joins the top and bottom of each vessel, and each piece
seems to radiate color and light from within. This unusual
combination of materials and processes has become a signature
of her artistic identity and is an expression of her highly
personal style. Works by the artist are included in many private
and corporate collections. Deanna Clayton is a featured artist
in our Modern Fusion Exhibition
in July and August.
