Milwaukee is known for its many events and festivals that celebrate everything from food and beer to music and art. And although the “City of Festivals” is home to some of the most America’s largest and most well-known festivals, such as Summerfest and Wisconsin State Fair and The Milwaukee Film Festival, it also features a large number of smaller festivals where locals can get together and celebrate community, harvest and creativity. Our Lady of Lourdes Oktoberfest Artisan Fair is one of those events.

Held every year in October, Our Lady of Lourdes Oktoberfest Artisan Fair is a great way for locals to get together and enjoy some food and specialty beers while listening to some polka music. The family friendly event also has a number of children’s activities, story-telling, raffles, old-fashioned cake-walk, Milwaukee Brewer’s Racing Sausage, and much more.  If you’re looking for something unique, artisans will be on hand all weekend selling top-quality arts and crafts. The festival starts on Friday afternoon and lasts throughout the weekend. Here is a schedule of the Oktoberfest Artisan Fair 2017 so you can get an idea of what to expect:

Friday – The events begin at 4pm, with fried fish available. There will be a meeting for the local Boy Scout Troop in the evening and a live band will be on hand to play some of your favorite Polka Tunes. The Beer Garden will also be open that afternoon and will be serving a variety of specialty beers.

Saturday – The festivities will start at 11:00 when the Beer Garden opens. Artisans will also be on hand to sell hand-made arts and crafts. The art guild craft table will also be open between noon and 3pm for those wanting to learn more about creating arts and crafts. There will be live Polka music in the afternoon and evening. The Cake walk happens between 3 and 4pm and then again between 7 and 8pm. Polka mass will be held in the church at 5pm. You’ll be able to hot dogs and brats all day along with beef tips and noodles for dinner.

Sunday – The day will start with a Polka Mass at 10:30 am. For football fans, there will be an indoor tailgate party while the game plays on the big screen. There will also be kid’s activities and board games for families in Parish Hall. Winners for the raffle will be announced at 3pm.
